Hibiscus has a sour, cranberry-like taste. Hibiscus is a widespread flower in many countries and cultures, where it is enjoyed hot or cold. It must always be poured over with hot water to extract the flavor and aroma from the dried leaves, it is not suitable for cold brewing.

Hibiscus can be sweetened with fruit or herbs, eg mint. A cold hibiscus drink can also be mixed with mineral water so that it becomes fresh and sparkling.

Hibiscus is a flower that originates from temperate, subtropical and tropical areas.

Can be enjoyed warm and cold.

Preparation

Hibiscus is brewed in a preheated jug.

The water must not boil for a long time, as you boil the oxygen out of the water.

Use 1 tsp. flowers per cup, approx. 2 grams.

The flowers are poured with 80-95 degree warm water.

Infusion time: 3 – 4 minutes.

Since the flowers produce the best results at to float freely, you can possibly use a spacious strainer in the preheated teapot, or pour the tea over a preheated teapot.

Store dry and cool.
