Matcha Himawari is a high quality culinary matcha made by tea producers Hiraoka. It
is perfect for matcha latte, ice cream, desserts or in cold drinks like mock/cocktails.
Producing matcha is a difficult process, where entire fields are covered so that the bushes and fine tea leaves are not exposed to direct sunlight. After the leaves have been picked, they are processed through several stages, the last stage of which is to grind the leaves into a very fine powder.
Yuta Hiraoka-san has worked in the family business Tamakawa Tea since he was young, where he had a special interest in tea tasting and tea blending. Through dedication and hard work, in September 2023, as one of the youngest team masters, he achieved the highest rank (10th dan) at the 70th National
Tea Examination Skills Competition.
