Bunshogama porcelain is made by Mr. Kojiro BABA who is the third generation of the Bunshogama family.
His workshop and kiln are located near the top of Mount Koshidake, overlooking the port of Imari in Nagasaki prefecture in southern Japan.
BABA specializes in tableware in
kappo style
and it is appreciated by many chefs in Japan and now also in Europe.
The glaze that "drips" and the black spots formed during firing as well as irregularities in the color constitute the individuality of these unique objects.
