Grown in the misty mountains of Kyushu Island, Sencha Midori is a refined Japanese green tea from the renowned family-run garden Hoshino Seichaen.
This spring-harvested tea is crafted exclusively from the Yabukita cultivar, prized for its balance and depth. The leaves are carefully steamed and dried through multiple stages, yielding a vibrant cup with a smooth, full-bodied character.
Expect fresh notes of young grass, steamed greens, and a hint of asparagus, offering a true taste of early spring in Japan.

Ingredients: japanese green tea.

Preparation

Sencha Midori is brewed in a small preheated jug, possibly a glass jug, so that you can see the beautiful colour.
The water must not boil for a long time, as you boil off the oxygen of the water.

Use 1 tsp. tea with top per cup.

Pour over the leaves with water at about 80 degrees and you get the finest flavor if the leaves float freely in a spacious strainer or freely in a small jug. After approx. 1 min., you can start to see the "umami cloud" in the tea. It is the one that gives sweetness and umami, which also produces the "cloud" of delicate and natural aromas in the tea.

Brew time:

1st brew: 2 minutes
2 .+ 3rd brew: 30-40 sec.
The leaves can be used 2 – 3 times.

In the case of a small jug, it may mean Japanese Kyusu teapot with internal strainer or HARIO glass teapot. The advantage of the small jug is that you brew 2-3 cups at a time, after which you add more tempered water when you are ready for the next cup. In this way, you utilize the potential of the leaves, by brewing several times, and you get the experience of a fresh cup of tea.

The tea should be kept cool, preferably in a refrigerator.
